Delicious tijdelijk onbereikbaar?

Ik kreeg enkele dagen geleden een mail dat Delicious in andere handen komt. Hierdoor zou de site een tijdje offline zijn en raden ze aan al je bookmarks ergens ander op te slaan.

Heeft er iemand een goed alternatief?

Marijke, volgens de informatie die ik vond, is het helemaal niet nodig om (tijdelijk) een alternatief te zoeken. Je moet alleen nu - voor de migratie - in je Delicious-account aanmelden en Delicious de toelating geven om al je bookmarks te migreren. Het is mogelijk dat op het moment van de migratie je bookmarks tijdelijk niet bereikbaar zijn (alhoewel dat niet per se hoeft), maar dat zal dan in principe niet zo lang duren. Je zult er volgens mij dus weinig last van hebben.

Ik heb ook een mailtje gekregen, maar nu pas bekeken. Er wordt eigenlijk enkel gevraagd om de nieuwe gebruikersvoorwaarden te aanvaarden omdat Yahoo - sinds 2005 eigenaar van Delicious- de site is verkocht heeft aan AVOS Systems (de oorspronkelijke ontwikkelaars van You Tube, dat in nov 2006 in handen van Google kwam). Tot juli 2011 blijft Yahoo de site hosten, daarna kan je maar beter bij AVOS zitten of ben je al je lekkere favorieten kwijt...

Gewoon even inloggen, klikken op I agree en je hebt het kluwen registratievoorwaarden van de oorspronkelijke Delicous verruilt voor die van AVOS delicious.

Als je voor juli 2011 de voorwaarden nog niet aanvaard hebt, zal je Delicious niet meer kunnen gebruiken. Doe je dat wel dan wordt alle info (logingegevens, bewaarde websites, tags etc.) netjes overgedragen.

Wat mij betreft is dit een zogenaamde no-brainer… Je hebt niets te verliezen bij het overschakelen van de account. Ze beloven plechtig om alle faciliteiten te behouden en uit te breiden. Is dat niet het geval dan is er nog tijd genoeg om een alternatief te zoeken, niet?

How do I transfer my bookmarks?

To transfer your bookmarks, you need to "opt-in" to allow your account and all associated data to be moved. You can do this from the opt-in page.

What will happen to my public and private bookmarks?

By agreeing to the AVOS terms of service, you will allow us to send your account information, bookmarks, and all the data associated with your Delicious account to AVOS when they re-launch Delicious. Your public and private bookmarks will be maintained as they are today. The information transferred would include:

Delicious username
Delicious password
Email address
First Name
Last Name
Bookmarks, Tags and Notes
Inbox items
Tag Bundles
Tag Descriptions
Network Members
Subscriptions
Blogpost jobs
Twitter Auth credentials (if supplied)

What if I don't opt-in to migrate my bookmarks to AVOS?

You will no longer be able to use Delicious or access your bookmarks after the transition is complete.

Is AVOS going to build a Delicious extension that is compatible with Firefox 4.0?
